FREEDOM – Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Equal opportunity for everyone. Freedom. We seem to
pretty much agree on.
CRIME – Violent crime is a serious issue. The best cultural,
academic institutions and medical facilities are usually
in our big cities. Businesses are leaving due to constant,
large-scale theft and crime. Will these all deteriorate?
HOMELESS – Should they be allowed to live on the
streets or not? If so, where?
DRUGS – Marijuana was illegal for many years. We were told it was a gateway drug. Today, almost 45% of our population is using marijuana in some form or another. Marijuana impairs your ability to think quickly, weakens your motor skills and can affect your memory.
GAMBLING – It seems now anything goes. You can gamble at the casino, on your phone and online. You can bet on any football game right from your couch.
Is this what we want for our children?
IMMIGRATION REFORM – This country was built on
legal immigration. Immigrants are an asset. Open
border policy with no legality is causing untold issues
in our country.
ENERGY POLICIES – Full speed ahead on solar power and
electric vehicles? Or can we be smarter? If we are not
careful, we will be having rolling blackouts. In addition,
China is building 136 coal plants and manufacturing
97% of solar wafers. Meanwhile, American politicians are
talking about banning gas stoves.
ELECTIONS – Yet another election! The
candidate you like best in the primary
might not be the one that can win
in the general election. Voting in
primary elections deserves much
more thought.
What a mess. Stay calm, take a
deep breath and try to do the
best you can.
